Expression Design is a tool for creating high-quality vector and raster (bitmapped) graphics. Graphics you create in Expression Design can then be either exported into a variety of file formats, or printed.

Expression Design is ideal for creating icons, logos, and user interface controls for use in desktop and web applications which can be exported to Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML). The XAML files can then be imported into Microsoft Expression Blend, an application for designing interactive user interfaces for Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Microsoft Silverlight applications.
